If you are having your baby in hospital or in a midwifery-led birthing unit, you must pack a lot of things. You need things for labour and birth, for after the birth, and for your birth partner. If you need more than one bag, you can leave some items in the car boot and your partner can get them later.
When packing, bear in mind that you may be able to go home from hospital the same day you give birth. Or you could stay in for one night or longer depending on the delivery. Consider giving someone you trust a key to your house with details of where they can find things, just in case.
Make sure your bag is ready four to six weeks before your due date, just in case baby arrives early.
